Types of Blue Diseases

The Blue Disease as very clear by the name represents all those types of diseases due to which one or more of the different body parts turn blue in color. In lighter or severe forms, the color might change from one to another but bluish would represent the middle stage or most appropriate stage of the disease due to which the name holds. The most common types of diseases that turn one ore more body parts change color are known as:

  • Blue Eyes
  • Blue Waffles
  • Blue Tongue
  • Cyanosis
  • Exotic disease

Blue Eye Disease

The Blue Eye Disease is the most specific type that turns at least one eye changes color. It is caused by the Paramyxo-virus and may also be found in common pet animals like a rat, cat or dog. There is practically no known treatment but it all depends on the various symptoms one might have. Some common symptoms of the disease may be found as,

  • Lack of appetite
  • Fever
  • Loose Motion

Blue Tongue Disease

The Blue Tongue Disease is a disease that turns the tongue with a color change. No known case has ever been found in humans but a large number of cases have been discovered in cattle like sheep, goats and buffaloes. The disease is caused by the Tongue Virus and once again there is no known treatment but preventive care like vaccines are provided to cattle for safety. The symptoms may not be limited to the following,

  • High Mortality Rate
  • Blue Tongue
  • Facial Swelling

Cyanosis

Cyanosis, also frequently termed as the Blue Disease is famous for decolorizing the body color and giving light blue or purple tinges throughout the whole body. The major cause of this disease is low oxygen level provided to the body. It greatly affects blood circulation across the body because it affects the heart. In simple words, it is caused as soon as the blue blood mixes with the red blood. Cyanosis is mainly divided into two categories:

  • Central
  • Peripheral

Central infection affects the central regions like the lips and the up-straight regions whereas the latter, Peripheral infection, affects body parts like fingers, nails or even the hands. Some known symptoms are found.

  • Breathing Problems
  • The Color Blue
  • Low Feeding Rate

 Exotic Blue Disease

This is a type of disease affecting cotton so it does not affect the living things. The cotton produced throughout the year is reduced by a great deal. It is caused by the cotton leaf roll dwarf virus. It is mostly found in Australia where it is found to be directly affecting the stem leaves of the cotton plant usually giving it a greenish to blue color.
